Margaux  (94-98/100) Very deep, dark, opaque youthful red/purple colour that holds right to the rim. There are wonderfully intense aromas of crushed red and black berries with milky touches. The palate is intense, youthful, elegant and pure. Notes of cassis, blackberries and damsons are framed by a very attractive fine cedary oak structure. The tannins are supple and silky. There is good concentration and mouth-wartering acidity. The wine has a long, composed, seamless finish with a little alcoholic warmth, bright damson fruit and some savoury overtones. The aromas are a combination of fine cedar notes, mocha and coffee grounds.
This is a composed, elegant wine with lovely fruit purity. The very fine structure complements vibrant notes of bramble, raspberry, cassis and morello cherries. The wine is in a quite traditional style, combining drying, grainy tannins with fresh acidity. The finish is very long with a good grip, this is certainly one for the future. Restrained aromas of dark fruits, mineral notes and some lifted dark berry perfume.
The palate is well structured and the tannins are drying. The wine has good acidity and there is some lovely juicy black fruit. The finish is very attractive and shows the wine should open beautifully as its tannins soften. The nose is absolutely delightful, it is restrained with classic violet perfumes, elegant notes of cassis, dark cherry hints and delicate vanilla and cedary oak.
On the palate the fruit is wonderful lifted, sweet and juicy, but with a firm, refined structure, good acidity and a long pleasant, balanced finish. The aromas are quite restrained, combining earthy notes with impenetrable dark fruits.
The palate is rich, initially presenting simple liquorice, blackberry, kirsch and nectarine flavours, before revealing greater complexity. The wine develops into an elegant, well structured, firm wine with fine grained tannins. A big, concentrated wine, that is never the less well balanced. Fine grained drying tannins on the finish.
