I hate to admit it, but I've been lazy. Not just a little lazy, a lot lazy. So lazy that I went from religiously watching what I consumed and working out at least 7 hours a week to not tracking my food and maybe, MAYBE working out 4 days a week. Of course, I didn't see it at first. But recently, I noticed that quite a few of my clothes are giving me that oh so lovely muffin top. These aren't new clothes either, these are clothes that I've worn many a time.
When I notice a problem, I immediately want to fix it. When I stopped denying my shortcomings, I started to analyze how and why I got off track. There are the obvious factors such as my failure to track what I consume and my lack of discipline, but the real reason I'm so off track is because I never hold myself accountable. If I eat a cookie or dessert I know I shouldn't eat I brush it off as "it's ok, I exercise" and if I miss a workout I reason that my body needs to rest. Of course, this is fine in moderation, I do believe you deserve to reward yourself for working hard and that rest days are just as important as workout days, but when you keep making excuses you see yourself falling back into bad habits. Totally unacceptable.
[Random side note: Does anyone else think it's totally unfair that it takes MONTHS, maybe even YEARS to successfully go from a couch potato to a healthy/active adult, but it only takes a few WEEKS to undo all your hard work?]
So now I'm going to use this thing to hold myself accountable (at least for the running/workout portion). If it's written down for the world to see, it has to be done, right?
Here's my workout plan for the week of 5/2-5/7:
Sunday: Rest Monday: Body Pump Tuesday: 3mi Run, Pilates Wednesday: Muscle Blast Thursday: 3mi Run Friday: Rest Saturday: Body Pump, Turbo KickIt's sad to see how much my weekly mileage has dwindled since I've gotten lazy, but I've gotta start up again and I've gotta start somewhere. I promise to check in on Saturday to honestly assess my progress.
