Osama Bin Wasted! « Uncensored Thoughts for a Vulgar World

no one could have said it so simply yet so electrifyingly like the Great One himself.
standing in the middle of the ring, 20+ thousand ppl chanting his name, electricity running thru the arena, sending chills down your back, and as The Rock raises the microphone to his mouth, the crowd goes silent….."We got him"…then followed cheers from the crowd, loud enough to shake and rumble the arena..as 20+ thousand stood on their feet, arguably one of the biggest groups ever, led by The Rock, recited the pledge of allegiance…it was a proud day to be an american, it was a long awaited day of redemption for a nation, and it was the beginning of a new era.

So Osama is a dead…what next? the war on terrorism continues. The new era i was referring to, implies this marks the next chapter in the war. In a battle, if an enemy commander is killed…they may retreat, the battle is lost, but the war rages on. some critics argue, you cut the head of a snake, and the body will not know where to go. I think this doesn't apply in the scenario. Al-quaeda is not a snake, it is a network of terrorists, a group of radicals following the values and teachings of their faith, not of another man's. Their response to their "leader's" death is 100% accurate…Osama, though was their leader, is merely another martyr…where he fell, 100s will rise up in his place. Their goals and ambitions are much deeper than normal protests or revolutions. These are people who are willing to lose their lives in exchange for piercing terror into the hearts of others. they do not follow the rules of combat, and they have no respect for humanity. I'll even go as far to say that they are like a cult…obsessed with the effect, so much so, to the point that they have forgotten their cause. They are trying to fight out western influences on their country, and the same time condemning their own who embrace western ideologies. They keep control and influence through fear..not through respect, reason, or any philosophical stand point.

How do you deal with such an enemy? a faceless group, hellbent on destruction and fear. The answer here is simple..education. i liken the state of pakistan/afghanistan presently, to that of ancient rome…when everything was dictated by religion. when ppl believed the earth was flat, and the sun revolved around our planet. a time when we believed god had control over everything. had it not been for countless philosphers, astronomers, and the like…we wouldn't have experienced the paradigm shifts that shape our world today. in my opinion, the majority of the islam world is still trapped in these archaic beliefs. They need people who are willing to step up, willing to accept the scrutiny, doubt, and prosecution in order to pave the way for future generations. right now, they have the will to lay their lives on the line…but for the wrong cause.

to my dearest mam,

lol, wow, that was an essay of a response…i agree fully with what you said (with exceptions). we simply don't want it as bad as the other countries. we haven't been pushed into a corner where we are forced to fight back..but what i'm trying to point out is…once it gets to that point…we've failed in our civic duties. contrary to your belief, i did go vote…hesitantly, i cast my vote for conservative MP, Julian Fantino…i have no faith in him, no faith that he will prosper my riding..but i have faith in the harper administration and their policies to guide our country as a whole out of debt and unemployment. Having said that, i feel like i've failed in my civic duties because in the end, i gave in to the voting system..i had no choice. and you're right…i wouldn't give up a week of work to rally and protest this system, because it hasn't forced me to.

what i don't agree with you on is empowering multi-national corporations. their increasing power on a global scale, places them in a position to dictate, or at least influence our domestic and foreign policies. just some food for thought.

on a side note…i'm glad to hear it's not cancer..but saddened by the bleak outlook of her condition..%3 of people are infected, with no known cure…i hope it doesn't develop into something worse..i've known alot of people affected by cancer, and various diseases…with such rapid advancements in technology and science, i wonder why we haven't come up with ways to effectively combat these illnesses. seriously pondering some charity work/fundraising to do my part for the cause…your never ending resistance to fate, and your will to fight back against all odds mounted to you.. have truly inspired me..and for that, i thank you.
