6. find a resource to start learning gaelic (i would be spending two semesters learning it)
*7. further develop previous papers. seek publishing (academic papers or poems)
8. read kinsella's translation of the irish epic, joyce's ulysses and portrait of an artist as a young man.
9. study as much irish history as possible. begin to follow irish current events.
10. begin to get involved in the workings of a theater (probably volunteer at the capitol), as i would be spending a semester working at the abbey
this seems like a lot of work, because it is. i want to be in an irish lit program in the worst way, so i will do whatever it takes. the worst that can happen is that i am not accepted and will have postponed pursuing my teaching degree for year while still bettering myself.
