Spring | shellhartley

Out in the meadows and o'er the brooks,
Springtime fills the air – -
She abounds with a radiant beauty
In a blissful solitaire.
If you listen you can hear her
Moving soft and sweet and low – -
God bless nature for the springtime
It's the grandest time I know.

O, for the uplifting feeling
And to know this gift of God – -
And to know that it's the season
For those men who turn the sod.
As the farmers sow their seeds
In the soft warm soil – -
Lo!  Spring weather shall bless them
For their sweat and their toil.

Springtime brings the flowers
In a bouquet of beautiful blooms – -
They fill the air with fragrance
And adorn the banquet rooms
You can see those gems of nature
As you stroll along the way – -
They will touch your heart with loveliness
And fill your every day.

Springtime brings renewal
For every coming year – -
She bring the leaves and blossoms
Which are always very dear.
It is strange that all the seasons
Have a beauty which they bring – -
Yet none has the grandeur
And the lovely beauty of spring!
